Our Story
YC Events was founded in 2019 in Kandy with a simple aim: deliver event production equipment reliably, with no subcontracting, at an honest price. At the time, most professional event suppliers were based in Colombo. Central Province event organisers had to either pay hefty transport premiums or work with underpowered local options.
We started with a focused inventory and built the business by showing up on time, staying for the full event, and packing down cleanly. Word spread through the Kandy event circuit, and demand grew faster than we expected.
By 2022 we had added LED wall hire, exhibition stall fabrication, alloy stage rental, stage lighting and sound. all in-house, all operated by our own trained crew. Today we cover every province. Our equipment is ours. Our crew is ours. And our base is still Kandy.

Central Province events had been underserved for years. we intended to fix that. Every piece of equipment was owned. Every operator was trained. Every booking was confirmed in writing.

Invested in P3 indoor and P4 outdoor LED panels at a time when Colombo-based suppliers dominated. We became one of the only Kandy-based operators able to deliver, rig, and operate a full LED wall at a Central Province venue the same morning. without the Colombo transport premium.

Added custom exhibition stall fabrication and installation at BMICH Colombo, KCC Kandy, SLECC, and hotel ballrooms across every province. Expanded from equipment rental into full event production. design, build, AV integration, teardown. One vendor, start to finish.
2023 · All Provinces
Completed the full production stack: professional line-array PA, alloy modular staging, and full DMX-programmed stage lighting hire. Three new services, same in-house model. No subcontractors, no equipment sourced from third parties. A single crew can now handle audio, visual, and structural production under one contract.
